ETTIA Board Service

The ETTIA Board of Directors is a team of volunteers who donate their time, energy and skills to promote the global awareness of  ETT and provide the ETTIA membership with quality professional development, therapeutic tools, and access to ETT research.  All Directors shall serve a term of two (2) years.  A Director may succeed him/herself for an unlimited number of terms or until his/ her successor is elected.  Members of the ETTIA Board are required to attend at least 75% of Board meetings (regular meetings are held once per month ).

  • If the individual meets the age requirements and has served on the C6 Board for a period of two full years, the Senior Lifetime Membership fee will be reduced by 50%.
  • If the individual meets the age requirements and has served as President of the ETTIA Board, the fee will be waived.

ETTIA Board Position Descriptions

President /Chairperson

The ETTIA President works with the ETTIA Board of Directors, Contract Accountant, and the membership at large.  The duties of the President are as follows:

  • Supervise and control the affairs of ETTIA
  • Preside at all Board meetings and exercise parliamentary control in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order
  • Serve as an ex-officio member of all standing committees
  • Set the agenda for each Board meeting
  • Assist the other Board members as needed

Treasurer

The Treasurer of ETTIA will have charge and custody of all funds of ETTIA, will oversee and supervise the financial business of ETTIA, and will render reports and accountings to the Directors as required by the Board of Directors, and will perform in general all duties incident to the office of Treasurer and such other duties as may be required by law, by the Certificate of Formation, or by the ETTIA bylaws, or which may be assigned from time to time by the Board of Directors.  The treasurer reports to the ETTIA Chairperson and works with the ETTIA  Board of Directors, Contract Accountant, and the membership at large.  Position duties are as follows:

  • Give ETTIA a bond with one or more sureties for the faithful performance of the duties of the office and for the restoration to ETTIA—in the event of his or her death, resignation, retirement, or removal from office—all books, papers, vouchers, money, and other property of whatever kind in his or her possession or under his or her control belonging to ETTIA.  The amount of the bond shall be determined by the Board of Directors.
  • Devise a plan providing for the acceptance and disbursement of all funds of ETTIA which shall be approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Set up all checking, savings, and investment accounts of ETTIA, with the approval of the Board of Directors, unless the Treasurer, with the approval of the Board of Directors, designates another member of the Board of Directors or employee of ETTIA as the authorized signatory for a particular type of disbursement.
  • Prepare a monthly report for the Board of Directors, providing an accounting of all transactions and of the financial conditions of ETTIA.
  • Respond to requests for financial records
  • Assist the other board members as needed

Secretary

The Secretary of ETTIA will perform all duties incident to the office of Secretary and such other duties as may be require by law, by the Certificate of Formation, or by the ETTIA bylaws.  The Secretary reports to the ETTIA Chairperson and works with the ETTIA Board of Directors.

Position duties are as follows:

  • Attest to and keep the bylaws and other legal records of ETTA, or copies thereof, at the principal office of ETTIA
  • Take or ensure that someone takes minutes of all meetings of the committees and Board of Directors
  • Keep copies of all minutes at the principal office of ETTIA
    Keep a record of the names and addresses of the Directors at the principal office of ETTIA
  • With the approval of the Board of Directors, set up procedures for any elections held by ETTIA
  • Keep a record of all votes cast in such elections
  • Ensure that all records of ETTIA, minutes of all official meetings, and records of all votes, are made available for inspection by any member of the Board of Directors at the principal office of ETTIA during regular business hours
    See that all notices are duly given in accordance with the ETTIA bylaws or as required by law
  • See that all books, reports, statements, certificates, and other documents and records of ETTIA are properly kept and filed
  • Assist the other Board members as needed

Director of Education

The Director of Education manages the ETTIA Certification process. Once ETT research is available, the Director of Education will pursue CEU provider status with NBCC and other national organizations.  The Director of Education reports to the ETTIA Chairperson and works with the ETTIA Board of Directors, ETT Teachers and the membership at large.

Position duties are as follows:

  • Answer questions from professionals regarding ETTIA Certification
  • Present all requests for certification to the Board for final approval
  • Notify ETTIA Treasurer of newly approved ETTIA Certifications and Certification Renewals
  • Maintain and store hard copy records of all ETTIA Certification and Certification Renewal Applications
  • Serve as Chair in the planning and presentation of the Annual ETT Conference
  • Maintain all training records
  • Maintain the current Texas license renewals for continuing education
  • Assist the other Board members as needed

Director of Membership

The Director of Membership manages ETTIA membership recruitment, processes new and renewing member applications, and maintains accurate member records.  The Director of Membership reports to the ETTIA Chairperson, works with the ETTIA Board of Directors, ETT Teachers, and the membership at large.

Position duties are as follows:

  • Answer questions from professionals regarding ETTIA Membership
  • Process memberships for new and renewing members and maintain accurate member records
  • Verify training
  • Verify credentials and licensure status
  • Send a welcoming letter to each new member
  • Collect demographics on new and renewing members and ensure that information is provided to the ETTIA Website Chair for updating the ETTIA Website
  • Communicate with ETTIA Treasurer regarding membership fee issues
  • Coordinate the dissemination of member application information at ETT and ETTIA events
  • Prepare a roster of members with contact information for the ETTIA Board
  • Assist the other Board members as needed

Director of Promotions

The Director of Promotions is responsible for planning, development and implementation of all of ETTIA’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal.  The Director of Promotions reports to the ETTIA Chairperson, works with the ETTIA Board of Directors, ETT Teachers, membership at large, and the mental health community in general.

Position duties are as follows:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of support material and services
  • Present marketing strategies and communications to the Board of Directors for approval before implementation
  • Serve as Co-Chair with the ETTIA Education Officer for the planning and presentation of the Annual ETT Conference
  • Publish the ETTIA newsletter - The Full Spectrum  (Bi-Annually with option to publish Quarterly)
  • Manage ETTIA social media accounts
  • Assist the other Board members as needed.

Director of Ethics

The Director of Ethics manages the complete and proper adherence of the ETTIA Bylaws and communicates the organization's mission and philosophies internally as well as within the ETT community.  The Director of Ethics reports to the ETTIA Chairperson and works with the ETTIA Board of Directors, ETT Teachers, and the membership at large.

Position duties are as follows:

  • Oversee the investigation of all reported grievances regarding actions of ETT practitioners unless such actions are reportable to the Licensing State Board.
  • Fulfill that responsibility fairly and uniformly and in accordance with the ETTIA Grievance Procedures.
  • Ensure the proper handling and disposition of all grievance cases including recommendations for ETTIA Membership Cancellations.
  • Review and suggest possible revisions to grievance procedures and other communications to member professionals to ensure ethical and professional standards.
  • Provide guidance to policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and other governmental requirements as appropriate.
  • Advise colleagues on ethics and compliance matters
  • Encourage reporting without fear of retribution
  • Coordinate and support the development and implementation of compliance related policies and procedures as needed.
    Investigate compliance related concerns, including, but not limited to internal ethics cases.
  • Coordinate Reportable Issue submissions and follow up
  • Assist the other Board members as needed

Director of Website

The Director of Website manages the information placed on the ETTIA website to ensure it is accurate and current.  The Director of Website reports to the ETTIA Chairperson, and works with the ETTIA Board of Directors, The ETT Teachers, The Website Developer, and the membership at large.

Position duties are as follows:

  • Answer questions from professionals regarding ETTIA Website
  • Update membership demographics on the ETTIA Website
  • Maintain Calendar of Events on the ETTIA Website
  • Post news on the ETTIA Website
  • Act as a liaison between the web developer and ETTIA Board when updates or changes needed on the website exceed Director’s technical capability
  • Assist the other Board members as needed

Director of Tool Support Customer Service

The Director of Tool Support Customer Service responds to tool questions and concerns of the ETT community, reports to the ETTIA Chairperson, and works with the ETTIA Board of Directors, the ETT Teachers, The Tools Sales Support staff, and the membership at large.

Position duties are as follows:

  • Respond to questions and concerns regarding ETTIA tools in a timely manner
  • Effectively communicate with Tool Sales Support staff and ETTIA Board to determine best course of action regarding tool concerns
  • Report changes regarding Tool prices or purchase policies to the ETTIA Website Director
  • Assist the other Board members as needed
